Custom Pedal Builds...who would you go to?
So, the Secret Santa thread got me thinking...if I were going to see about having a pedal custom built (let's say something unique and cool, not a simple clone of a familiar circuit, but not something ridiculously complicated either), who should I go to? What builders do this type of thing? Who is regularly available? Who is reasonably priced? Who is relatively fast?
I've never really looked into getting any sort of custom build before, so I'm a total neophyte with this, but I was thinking some of the ILFers are well versed in this sort of thing and could share their experiences here.
What say you?

DanDubbleEwe does really quality builds and nice etching.
Jero does stuff, but I don't know if he is building right now but just got a shark tank.
Heard good things about Anarchy.
dminner/satellite does nice etching.
Morange does good work (effect banks in shark tank).
Also, don't forget Tom/Fuzzhugger/Tidal Waveforms (but might be busy)!
Copilot too!
Look in DIY and the shark tank, tons of good builders around here. It all depends on what your stalkee is into I would think. Find the builder that fits and message them.

Re: Custom Pedal Builds...who would you go to?
I would poke around the shark tank and see what kind of builder fits the aesthetic of the pedal you're thinking of, then PM/email them to see what they say. Most of them do custom stuff, and all of them do great work, so it's hard to pick out some rather than the others.
I would not go into the process expecting some kind of Prymaxe pricing/turnaround, as that's likely a recipe for unrealistic expectations.

He did a really good job on the etched TM-1 I have. It's just too bad I didn't have anything else to get etched yet.

Ian / Gigahearts is the way to go. Nicest guy on the planet, with super good builds. Knows what he's doing.

He's not doing customs anymore, he's building stuff at his own place and releasing them into the B/S/T. But yeah, he builds fantastic stuff.hbombgraphics wrote:I always went to dirge, skully builds crazy stuff, completely off the chain

Re: Custom Pedal Builds...who would you go to?
I have one of Jero's builds. 100% quality and decent, and supported it even though I was not the first owner when a minor, minor problem occurred. If he's available, I'd go there.
I've had quality builds done by Godbox (who managed to do the Test Pattern with improvements that 2 other builders couldn't even make a stock one run on, with a custom PCB, and turnaround time that was stupid) and one of the early Noisekick customs (a three-way fuzz/trem/delay). Would buy from either again with absolute confidence.

Yeah Evan is one of my favorite builders emeritus on ILF.
