NGD: nineteen sixty-five fender mustang
I've always wanted a vintage fender student guitar. i've had a mij mustang before which was great, but now I am pleased to have the real deal. picked it up on reverb for what I felt was a fair price in respect to the condition; I just dropped it off at the guitar shop for a fret level and dress, new nut, and setup with 11s. I'll have it back tomorrow night. Here's a quick snap for now, but I'll take some glam shots tomorrow

Also those switches are clearly replacements. I need to age them to match somehow...

Beautiful! Congratulations. I've been on Mustangs hard, lately. In fact, I had a Squier coming, but cancelled my order after being dicked around by Musician's Friend. I'd still like to have one of the early Fenders or a '69 Comp, though.

i have a squier vm jag, i think that series is definitely worth a get. maybe try sweetwater or something. i suspect the VM series may be coveted down the road. I think they are on par with instruments in the $500+ range

Oh I love it! I have a later-60s Mustang and it is my super special favorite guitar. Mustangs are the best!

Well after visiting the guitar tech, the the fret leveling revealed a couple issues on a couple of frets, so we decided to end up going for a fresh refret. So sadly I won't get it back for another week now, but when I played it today it was feeling nice, so when it has fresh frets I think it's going to be just the greatest.
