then I also try to wrap my mind around how the hell the Egyptians built the pyramids so quickly given their resources so I imagine it was a highly evolved race or something that had amazing technology but something happened that wiped them off the map completely and all we have left are these pyramids with "theories" about how they're built.

then I read about formations on Mars that look like pyramids and imagine Mars as an ancient Earth post-nuclear apocolypse.

Not exactly related to Devi's post, but one of the History channels (there are like 10 of them) cut multi ton lime stone blocks with copper tools and moved them using only 4 people with ropes. no high tech mystery there at all.

Too hard too, it's a form of physciatry, influence, reading peoples body language, hypnotism (hypnotic induction), communication etc. takes alot of learning check out the U.K's Derren brown for a stage friendly version (awesome live too) it gets more indepth from there onwards (and he blows my mind as it is) There are many more focused versions such as bandler and erricson but they go too indepth, i'd check out derren brown first.
