It's beautiful.

Wouldn't work here, because it's too subtle.
Most people need the hammer to the head approach.

and just maybe because it would undermine Disney's hold on American TV, and the myth that they are the gods on animation?

Up was beautiful and toy story is a classic. But I guess I never liked many other pixar/animated films.

I thought it was going to be okay and it ended up being my favorite movie of its "pixar" genre.

I disagree, Disney died way before PIXAR. You can watch almost any Disney movie with a fucking stopwatch and time where the plot does the same thing in every fucking movie. Disney died shortly after Disney IMOP, PIXAR makes me fall asleep but they were the ones that got most of the Studio Ghibli [well the big stuff anyway] stuff released over here so there is atleast one good point.

Then there is the Disney channel which I think is only in existence to make children's minds grow smaller

Cool ass hair product commercial. Yeh, probably wouldn't work here for reasons stated, but it would stand out so people might be more apt to actually watch it and remember it. I don't think the ever flowing bleeding hair would fly here tho... "my little billy was traumatized by your cartoooon, so we're suing".

Truth. Disney has ALWAYS been predictable. But i mean really, you can't say that the first time seeing the Lion King your heart didn't wrench when Mufasa died. I won't believe you. Granted i was 7 years old when i saw it, but i still remember the feeling...

From the beginning through to the 80's disney was untouchable. You still can't fuck with the stuff they put out then. The only animation crews i've seen that can even come close to the brilliance of the hand drawn classic disney films are in fact, Studio Ghibli (i worship Hayao) and as far as CGI goes, Henry Selick, and Tim Burton.

I hate pixar because i hate their style of CGI. I miss the days of hand-drawn art. It has a completely different level of depth that i have not seen Pixar EVER reproduce. the art comes off as saccharin to me.

I don't think i've seen anything as visually appealing as Coraline come from Pixar. And granted, All anime obviously uses CGI now, but it's used to enhance the hand drawn.

That's why i hate watching Ghost in the Shell. I think as a story, it's brilliant but i can't ever get through an episode because of the 3d-esque shading.

Just as a small, off topic interjection, but did you guys know that Pixar began life as part of the LucasFilm Empire?

Anyway, I'm none too keen on Disney generally, but I actually quite like most of Pixar's movies.

Ah yes “the Lion King”.
A remake (some say ripoff) of the Japanese cartoon series Simba.

Maybe if credit had been given to the original.
