This is a Sunn Beta Lead '78!

Yes, this is solid state but it will blow you away how much it doesn't sound like a SS and how it sounds basically identical to a tube. Playing through it clean sounds almost identical to a Fender tube.
The sustain is in incredible, I've never heard anything like it!
I've never heard a NYC Big Muff sound so good before!
Reverb is awesome, but it's no Fender.
The low ends do get pretty low with fuzz. This must be why King Buzzo of the Melvins used this for years before switching to a egnator. Kurt Cobain also used this on Bleach.
One of the key parts of this amp is that there is 3 inputs A, B, and Both!?! That means you can play both channels at the same time. For example you can play one channel clean and one dirty and hear them both. This amp is perfect for experimental noise.
I can also plug a cabinet to each channel or both.

I got this three weeks ago and I'm so in love with it! It needs a little work, the foot switch is not working properly and if you can notice the pot on the master has been snapped off so I have to really get a good grip to turn it up and down. I'll get to that eventually. It took me awhile to figure out the settings because it is not set up like your typical setting on every other amp out there. It may be to complicated to explain, you would just have to mess with one to know. Somebody told me that if you mess with a Sunn you become obsessed with them and it's true!

Okay, just had to tell somebody how awesome it is. Hope you cool kids have a good day!

(I don't think I used enough exclamation points in this post!!!!!!!!!!!)

They will change your life!

I played with a guys Sunn ? (tube), and it sounded amazing, but... it still doesn't compare to this (biased maybe).
What I've started to notice is that people with Sunn amps don't really know what they have so they go for stupid cheap.

i've never heard of someone playing one that didn't absolutely love it. don't these use FETs? that would explain the "tube-y" sound.

I'd love to try out a Sunn too, but I'm only looking at smaller amps at the mo.
