10 Weird Tricks Utilizing 2 Pedals Oscillating?

Post by Chankgeez »

So, I've been using my two Rainbow Machines (Double Rainbow) by setting the oscillations against each other.

You got some tricks you wanna show me?

I let two Test Patterns duel it out, one to both amps, one running into one only.

Splat boom thud.

My friend uses two loopers. Records a loop on one, then records the same loop on the other. (He can feed one loop into the other looper, if the exact same loop is needed). Inevitably they will go out of sync. He can stop them and restart out of sync, too. Etcetera.

I do this as well to imitate a phasing technique. Of course one loop isn't slower than the other though, so it's not quite phasing, just two recorded loops dancing around each other.

Nah, CT5 doesnt have the subtly that you can get with stacking two loopers. Also some really cool lagging/resonances can happen if you record a loop of a loop then let the second looper run on overdub and just keep layering.

Yeah, that makes sense. I should get out of here before I order another looper just to see what it sounds like.

Found this by happy accident the other day. Really made me want a phaser again haha.

Just run two out of snyc delays on very long sample time and high regen, go AFK.

That's pretty much it.

I use a pair of one-shot sample and hold rack delays for that type of thing on occasion, with non-destructive LFO/speed control over the held circuit available on demand as well.
