I actually stopped doing the pulsing LED as it adds a little noise.
Can swap it over if it's a deal breaker.

Definitely not a deal breaker.. another question:

Is the LED in the gutshot on the bottom just used as a diode? Does the circuit ever cause it to light up where it'd be neat to be able to see it? Just curious.

The LED on the board flashes against the LDR.
Could put one of those clear plastic ring deals in there.
