Convert Pep box to 1 knobber

Post by Ben79 »

I'm building a Pep box with this schematic...

If I wanted to lose the 'effect' pot and have it set at full gain, would I replace the pot with a 10k resistor and join the negative end of the 25uf cap at the junction with the base of Q2? Or the other side of the 10k? Or have it got it COMPLETELY WRONG and I don't even need a resistor?

Ok, I've been thinking about this and I think I was right first time. Max gain would be the littlest portion of the signal sent to ground which would mean the full 10k resistance of the pot so a 10k resistor (the 100 can go) to ground from the junction of the cap and q2 base.

Am I right?
