I've used craigslist throughout the years and met some good people in the Musicians section. For a while now though its been pretty barren in terms of finding people with similar interests. Are there any websites or forums where one could find people looking to start something?

meetup.com for one. If you just want to play with people and not necessarily in the same room, then try jamkazam.com. Interface and a internet connection and your jamming.

Where are you in the US? I think every area has their own hidden nooks of the interwebs... in Providence, there's www.lotsofnoise.com and www.musictown.co, in Boston there's http://www.thenoiseboard.com/

Also, do you have local stores you frequent? Sometimes those smaller shops can be great places to find out who's doing what...

I'm in Santa Rosa. You north bay at all? Seems around here it's craigslist or just knowing people, but I could be missing something. There are a handful of Bay Area cats in here. Haven't had the pleasure of meeting up yet but I intend to.
