Mics to drape over your amp

Post by Inconuucl »

I'm on a space limited loft here, so having a dedicated mic stand to record effectively makes me unable to move, which I want to do. what I'm asking is if there are any mics that sound good when hung from the top of my speaker cabinet, I'm not looking for djent/prog metal levels of production here, just something that sounds good enough to put on a mix. :idk: Thus far I've had my SM57 try and fail to do the job due to the vertical angel to my Cab.

Sennheiser 609 and 906 are designed to work perfectly in this way.

I use a desk top mic stand for this. It has a 6" heavy round base and extends to 14" high without the clip and mic. Probably 15 1/2" with the clip and mic.
