Convert one Marshall into another???

This might be a dumb question.....

So there's a dead JCM 2000 near me for dirt cheap, $100, with a fried board, but good iron and tubes. Is it at all feasible/possible to use those parts for a plexi build?? Like, order a pre-populated plexi turret board, or Jcm 800 maybe, and wire it to those parts?

You're buying a story there. I'd assume you're buying a head shell at that price and not much more.

"Should be ok" on transformers and tubes....isn't much of a guarantee.

even if those parts did turn out to be good, those transformers just aren't on the level of the old marshall transformers at all. if you want to do a plexi build, use something nice from mercury or something. don't go to all that trouble to build an amp and use that stuff. but yeah, i wouldn't trust "should be good" stuff from a fried amp to actually be good.
