Jazz, Rockabilla, swing Guitar

Post by laxlover_bill369 »

My friend has really gotten into jazz and swing (mainly jazz). He was wondering what an ideal guitar would be, an Ibanez AK95 http://www.ibanez.com/HollowBodyGuitars/Series-ak, AF95 http://www.ibanez.com/HollowBodyGuitars/model-AF95, AF75 with trem http://www.ibanez.com/HollowBodyGuitars/model-AF75TDG or any others you can think of?

I always thought the ES-175 was the best sounding jazz guitar. I think epiphone makes a 175 for 400-500 bucks. That's the route I'd go personally

any of those will do a very good job playing jazz
As would the Epiphone Es-175.

Also Cort makes a couple of very nice jazz boxes in that price range.

Don”t rule out the Dean (Dean? this is jazz not shred!) Palomino.

P90s have a nice clarity and note definition that you don't get with humbuckers, and a bit of cutting edge when cranked for rockabilly..

The Hagstrom Viking, definitely.

That Epiphone WildKat thing looks like it might be a half decent rockabilly guitar.
