4ms pedals

Post by mff »

I couldn't find a thread on this topic, so heeeeere we go.

I've had my eyes on them for a while, and now i think i wanna buy the Mondo Nocto Loco.

Anyone have any experiences to share, on the Mondo or any other 4ms pedal? Pre-made or DIY.

I rocked a Tremulus Lune (deluxe model with the aux LFO) for a while. Amazingly versatile, tons of options for a trem. I only sold it because I couldn't spare the pedalboard space.

Swashtoner, Nocto Loco & DIY Tremulus Lune are on my want list, have to wait a bit, though, now that I ordered my Sp.Aenima. I, too, am curios of first hand experiences. Volume drops? How they behave with other pedals? Do they handle active bassguitar signal leves?

If the Youtube demos are to believe, the pedals open a massive palette of sweet filter madness and some fuzzy goodness, near granular synthesis. :animal:

I have serious gas for 4ms stuff, particularly the Nocto Loco and the Atoner. When heard those things in action I damn well nearly soiled myself.

I had the Noise Swash, but sold it off cuz it was just too much knobs for me as a straight up guitar player. I've been speaking to Dann about getting a Mini Swash with a LFO as that's the one feature I can't let go of. Downsized to six knobs. Can't wait.

I'm really considering an Atoner... How versatile is it? Can it oscillate? Can it do like big full and trashy stooges type of fuzz (with chord clarity)? Have you compared it to a fuzz factory? Also, what are your thoughts on the noise swash? I'm planning on building either. Thanks :thu:

it's really extreme and has lots of texture but i don't know if i'd call it versatile...maybe versatile in the extreme realm but you wouldn't use it for a "nice" fuzz sound.
yes it oscillates.
yes...it's trashy and works well on chords.
i love the fuzz factory...and it does compare to it in some ways but the atoner is more fuzzy (if you can believe that) and it has that squelchy quality where you can dial in fuzz on the verge of exploding. i use both... alot.
i don't have the noise swash so i can't say, but it's on my list of boxes to have before i die. for sure :thumb:

hope this helps a little...

I have the Atoner. It's wild, but I haven't used it much.
