Dirt for Rhodes/ep/organ

Post by Meta- »

The stock od on the Nord Electros are ... underwhelming. I'm not going for anything too extreme and buzzy. I've gone through a Bass Muff, TAFM, fuck and now I'm on a fuck mountain and I'm still looking for that juice. The fucks are the best so far but the f mountain is too knobby for what it gives me. Have a feeling I'll be looking for a fuck again sometime soon.

Any ideas? Just scored a Dark Driving so I'll be giving that a try.

I was coming to recommend a Fuck, Mini, or TAFM considering Brian is primarily a keys player and he makes amazing effects buuuut I guess that's not helpful here

I too vote Infanem but then the Driving Notion, this Saturday in the studio with a producer friend of mine we used it on Rhodes and it was awesome, the Moog MF Drive was really cool too as was the combo.

BOSS OD-2R. It's my go-to overdrive for anything else than guitar (although it also sounds lovely with guitar). I also use it live on stage with my synths. Really good sounding and very versatile. And it won't kill your tone as other pedals would. It has nice EQ behaviour.

Fuzzhugger Arc Flash would probably sound awesome on a Rhodes. :idk: Never tried it, I don't own a Rhodes.

Iron Ether QF2 (or any quadrafuzz variant) sounds great on everything I've tried it with. It takes a lot of tweaking to get the right sound, but you can fine tune everything across the frequency spectrum, AND THEN YOU CAN SWEEP IT LIKE A WAH!
