Thinking about building a 60's fuzz. Can't decide which...

I think I've narrowed it down to either the Mosrite Fuzzrite or the Jordan Bosstone kits from GGG. I'm trying to find something not so complicated since this is my first build. I'm aiming for a trashy 60's garage rock style fuzz.

If it matters, I play out of a solid-state Peavey Vulcan with a jazzmaster that has a vintage-styled humbucker in the bridge. I'm also hoping this fuzz will go well after an OCD. I also use a civil war big muff but I doubt I'll be using it at the same time as this fuzz.

What are your thoughts? Which is easier for a beginner to build?

Nothing says trashy 60's garage rock like the Mosrite Fuzzrite. With the right guitar and amp the Jordan Bosstone will also get you there. Though the Fuzzrite will get you there sooner. The standard ILF answer though is to buy both. I have clones of both and they both are awesome fuzzes.

I own a mosrite fuzzrite and Jordan bosstone, I'd say go for the Jordan...it really rips higher energy than the fuzzrite. They are both sort of one trick ponies, great trick though. Don't know anything about building them but good luck

The bosstone being way more high energy is why I'm a little hesitant. I don't know if boosting it with an OCD would really change it at all. I've played around with the fuzzrite model in amplitube a bit since my amp is broken at the moment and pairing that with an OCD model gets some pretty sweet sounds. Much more sustained and growly. I guess I kind of like that aspect of it.

Also the muff clone I have is pretty high gain already especially when boosted. That's like my main fuzz for everything, but it doesn't have that trashy sputtery quality I want. It's too smooth and tame at times.

I built the GGG Fuzzrite and it rules. But I also added a cap switch to make it a bit more suitable for doomier stuff when I want. It works suprisingly well for that.

How does the cap switch change the sound? What cap values are you using? Also don't they give you a choice of transistors to use? I've tried looking up stuff on the different transistors but I have no idea what one would do versus another.

Is GGG's Fuzzrite the germanium or the silicon version? I've heard demos of the germ Fuzzrite that does really cool texture variations in response to the volume knob.
