Wires too short

Post by Bellyheart »

I've been trying to minimize wiring to clean guts and I should've used longer leads but I didn't. Luckily it's wires going to pots but I was wondering what I should do. If I solder longer wire to the ends of the wire from the pcb some will be exposed, making a good spot for shorting. Getting things off the pcb and reusing the holes is impossible. How do I salvage?

Heat shrink tubing is your friend.

If you want it to look clean, remove the 'shorter' wire and replace it with the correct length instead of adding an extra wire and heatshrink. Whilst heat shrink is great, it often looks a little subpar and can let down the whole build!
