New Silversun Pickups

Post by sev »

It's out today.
If you liked the first one, you'll probably like it. If you didn't, you probably won't be won over.
I like it.

Well, it's worth MY time and money. That's all I can really say.

And there's a lot of killer guitar tones on it. Fuzz!

I've had it for about a week, but I've got such a stack new music to listen to that I haven't really gotten past the first listening. It's definitely Silversun Pickups though, and yeah, the guitars have awesome sound.

... I just realized that SP could stand for Smashing Pumpkins or Silversun Pickups... which made that post confusing for a second.

Good point. I like the Silversun pickups. I remember listening to them first when I saw them on the pumpkins top friends before zeitgeist was released. (kind of like here's some bands to listen to while you wait for our new album).

Then almost a year later my girlfriend played them on her zune and I was like "omgzerzgoshmcbegosh this is wicked". Thick fuzz dude, thick fuzz.

If had known about their complete awesomeness sooner....I probably would've lost my virginity to their first album.

Is it bad that I'm curious now? :mope:

Anyways... I haven't heard the new album, but I think "Panic Switch" is my favorite song by them so far. That might be the result of over-listening their old stuff, though. :omg:

*edit*

Oh hey... the whole thing's on Myspace.

I love Myspace more every day...

I'm not sure how to measure such things, but they have their moments of shoe-gaze for sure.
