MT-2 > Parametric Booster?

This might be asking for a lot, especially for a pedal with such a crappy history but here goes. Can the circuit be changed enough to get more boost/overdrive oriented tones? Even a grainier fuzz texture would be cool. Of all the mods I've found, the mainly tend to lower the noise floor and lessen upper end harshness. All settings of the gain control sound brootz and masky. Is there any hope for this?

I wanted to remove the distortion circuit so i could use it more like a Parametric EQ.
I've looked into it and heard a few years back that this has supposedly been tried and I heard that with the way
the circuit is designed with it's digital components, it can't really be done.
I wish I could offer more info.

I don't know that it would work, but if you were able to remove the clipping diodes, and turn the gain way down (maybe lower than the gain control goes-- might need to replace the pot), you might be able to get a clean sound out of it.

There are also 3 little filter circuits for certain frequencies that you'd likely wanna remove. I removed similar circuits from a DOD Grunge, and it removed a lot of the mid-scooped awfulness.

The filters are the bits around the bipolar transistors. Google around for mods, most will have you remove the caps that lead to those filters. Granted, at that point it's a higher gain DS-1 with parametric EQ, but hey! That can be fun!

Yeah i also remember hearing that the value of the pot(s) would need to be changed and it's deeper that just removing clipping diodes.
I'm interested to hear if anyone has made this into a more useful pedal.
Can any other modders chime in?
I personally would love a DS1 with a MT2 styled parametric EQ, over a stock MT2.
