Help me spend money

Post by billymick »

I have about $1k built up in Amazon gift cards, at first I was going to just grab a few boutique pedals and call it a day. Looking more into a guitar or bass. Unfortunately I am more a fan of used older guitars which there aren't a lot of but what the hell.

I am into bands like No Knife, Cursive, Steve Brodsky, Constantines etc. if that helps haha.

I play a 90s MIJ Tele through a Musicman HD130 and plan on keeping the tele.

Only thoughts so far are a G&L Legacy or Gibson Sg special, again just not stoked on a new gibson!

HELP! :surprise:

Squier Bass VI $350
Fuzzrocious Dark Driving $175
Earthquaker Devices Pitch Bay $225

Now you (basically) have a guitar, a bass, some boutique effects, and enough money for The Ugly Organ on vinyl.

This.

Or just forget about the boutique effects, and look for a nice acoustic. If you don't already have one that is. $800 will get you an excellent piece of wood on the use market.

what happens when you pay with an amazon gift card and then return the item? are you refunded actual cash?
Shiesty, I know, but it used and or vintage is what you really want... Might be worth looking into.

Maybe a G&L SC-2 or Fallout? Either can be had on Amazon for just over a grand and they're a hell of a lot cooler than a Legacy.

Don't rule out new Gibson, I got a 2014 SGJ and it's great! And I never thought I would buy a new gibson (or any gibson really) til I randomly picked that one up in GC.

Yeah those are pretty nice I've just never played one, the body looks tiny but I like it! I appreciate it.

Yeah I was just worried as I hear some good some bad about them anymore. Always dug Sg specials or even lp specials. Thanks for the input!
