Rainbow Machine settings

Post by foomanfat »

How are you using your Rainbow Machine?
Trying to figure this thing out. There's just so much happening.
I settled into a wonky slapback, for now.

I've been using it for some subtle follow/ambience. I think I have Pitch at noon. Mess around with the amount of Primary and Secondary. Been dialing back the secondary a bit. Magic and tracking at max and again, adjust tone to suit. I love it before a wash of delay as it adds some nice weirdness..

Yeah, it can.

For octave uppy kinda stuff, I like it either just past noon, around 3:00 or just fully CW.

I generally prefer my Tracking all the way counter-clockwise.

Oh, I suppose I should clarify, don't want my earlier statement to mislead anyone.

The Rainbow Machine only does a third up, not all the way up to the octave. So, weird third up hazy things.

I mainly gravitate to the recommended settings. I keep finding neato sounds in it, but when I come back from eating burritos, it usually sounds worse than I remember. Rather, I can't remember what I was playing to make the setting work.

Out of curiosity--do you rainbow machine owners run it before or after delay? or inbetween? I'm thinking about getting one of these...

I don't have a pedalboard. So, I move it around. Sometimes before delay, sometimes after. It sounds great either way.

In between
After my deluxe pitch pirate but before my boss rv3.

But like chank said, it sounds good anywhere I've put it really

Nice. Hasn't left my board. The chorus effect is great and the lag is fun. Figuring it out is fun.
