NGD: 1963 Epiphone Casino

It's about damn time. I put this guitar on layaway just prior to September 2012.
Kalamazoo-made at the Gibson plant in the McCarty era. Playable for days.
Despite having a repaired headstock (and slashed price!) it's taken this long to pay off because I've been buying/selling/trading pedals (mostly) as other exploding offers fell into my lap. Plus life happened, as it usually does.

When Superstorm Sandy hit...which my gear thankfully survived unscathed...it created all sorts of other setbacks and headaches; and just last December I was freaking out when suddenly, there were moisture issues to sort out...which to my relief wound up stemming from a downspout plugged up midway with helicopter/polynose seeds ( )
And this was while I was having no luck finding a case. So I kept the guitar at the store for 2 months with only $30 left on the balance. No way was I going to bring it home before having a place for it. Found a case for a deal, turned out it didn't fit. Raged.
Finally was able to trade it for one that does. Still looking for a better option...at some point I'd like to go era-correct.
Also should've picked up a guitar stand somewhere along the way to get it all in a proper single picture.

Took these in the store, 2012:

They've kept me dreaming.

So this one...this guitar...is a sustained feedback fantasy come true. Low output for a p90, which in the middle position, combines with some creative vol knob manipulation and allows for lots of good tones, both clean & dirty. It's also much darker than one might expect...a nice fit for the '67 Selmer TNB 50mk2 that is my #1 amp.

Very big, full sound with some unreal resonance. I shall call her Mama Cas. :hobbes:

^ I think you might be able to squish a ham sandwich through the "f" holes :thumb:
Lovely-looking guitar. Glad it finally found its way home to you.

That's one of the most perfect guitars I've seen.

Hollow, middle pickup only, beautiful finish. Good find!

Thanks. I will work on some clips for April, no fools. :joy:
Up until this point my only guitar has been a Memphis Duo-Sonic clone scored for <$100.
Yes it was worth the wait...but I'm going to miss the anticipation. Briefly, that is...as my shortlist never gets any shorter. :)*

Random edit- guess I'm the fool
