DBA Echo Dream 2 Tap Tempo Mod?
I saw somewhere that there was a tap tempo mod for the echo dream 2. Anyone have any information on this? Thanks

Yeah Tommasters did it to his Echo Dream 1 and he said it worked but had its quirks. I tried to do it to an Echo Dream 2 but it killed the modulation

Yeah I did a mod for the echo dream one. It would work same on the echo dream 2.
I don't recommend doing it.
Basically you use the taptation pt2399 kit found here. http://diystompboxes.com/zencart/index. ... ucts_id=65
You can use this pcb or there are some vero layouts. http://www.jmkpcbs.com/JMK_PCBs/Store_f ... tation.pdf
I would say use the pcb cause it's small and so will actually fit in it.
It acts as a digital pot, can make any pt2399 delay tap tempo, not just the echo dream.
You replace the time pot with the pot from this and run the board inside with the rest of the pedal drill a tap tempo hole in your pedal and you got a tap tempo echo dream.
It screws with the mod section because the circuit has the time section connected to it. Sometimes it works and sometimes its finicky.
I would say that the echo dream being tap tempo kind of goes against the whole point of it, being a fucked up delay and the mod section is really cool so it sucks when it doesnt work but yeah it's a really easy mod to do.

Yep the biggest problem is the mod section. I'm still trying to work out why tapping the 6 foot on the pt2399 seems to kill the mod it doesn't seem like it shouldskullservant wrote:Yeah Tommasters did it to his Echo Dream 1 and he said it worked but had its quirks. Yeah it's really weird. Space6oy ended up sending his Echo Dream 2 to me to do the tap mod to and it was wonky so we ended up making the second footswitch max modulation if I can recall
