I know one of the dudes from Monarch uses a Landmine. I think one of them has a Super Sonic Fuzz Gun. But yeah, no such best fuzz for drone. Rats have nice sustain. Rats into Big Muffs are even better.

What every one else said. It all depends on the tone and feel you want to achieve. When playing more drone oriented pieces I become more aware of certain characteristics of my dirt. Specially in the lower registers. This is a situation where you may want to sit for a few hours with two or three different pedals and do some much needed knob turning to see what you can achieve.

I thought Monarch were based around various Muff type pedals that could've changed since. Rat into Muff will get ya there anyways.

Would the idiotbox lazer fuzz be any good? I just feel i need a han solo pedal. But i also need it to be practical for my needs.

I love the Idiotbox Lazer Fuzz.
I don't know that a Gated fuzz would really be what you were looking for for this application, unless you wanted to really slam the front end of it to keep the gate from killing off your notes.

Monarch were all using various versions of big muffs when they were out here a few months ago.

Hey! The Lazer Fuzz is more of a buzzy/gated/glitchy fuzz so its not gonna get the sustain you are looking for. Now my Dungeon Master I made specifically for drone doom sludge! The sustain is crazy even at low volumes, but it doesn't have Han Solo on it

This dude did a really nice demo of it.
