So... I need some advice ILF.
I've got a VM JM that I'm not totally in love with. I love the neck but the bridge pup is just so weak. I want something I can jam out on and feel good about...
On the other hand, my little bro will let me buy his VM Tele Dlx for pretty cheap. Meaning I could probably sell the VMJM and replace the electronics on that. My only thing is, the bucker neck never jives with me either. Wayyyy to muddy/muffled.
So, what would you do? Sell the JM, fix the TeleDLX? Or suck it up and keep the VMJM (and maybe replace the bridge).

Re: Geetardilemma
If you love the feel of the VMJM, I'd hold on to it and get another pickup set for it. That would likely be cheaper than buying the VM Tele anyways.
So, my two cents would be to stick with the VMJM unless you vibe better with the tele.

I'd say get new pickups as well if you love the feel of the JM. Lots of options out there.
As for Antiquity II, I had a set in my old Thurston Moore sig and while I loved the neck the bridge was still to harsh and thin for my tastes. Good output tho. The Fender Custom Shop JM pickups sound fantastic but I'm not sure if they're readily available and they're probably way overpriced. Hear great things about Novak and Lollar too.

Re: Geetardilemma
some sort of wrhb type pickup would be great for the bridge. my pickup set for my jazzmaster is creamery wrbh for jazzmaster in bridge and vintage jazzmaster and its absolutely perfect. Then again the set costs as much as a squier vm jm, oops lol. rose pickups have a similar pickup for jm's called the picasso, im sure someone here has a set and will give you opinions on the matter.
basically just get a new pickup set with something stronger in the bridge

Keep the VMJM. Get a spitfire tort, put a lollar p-90 for jm in the bridge. You will have a legendary guitar.
