I would not call these cheap but they look great and I've only heard good things about them. Wide variety of options.

Nick from Dunwich probably remembers what the company is but someone has an OR clone build kit along with some rad Marshall clone its as well. I can not for the life of me remember who the company was though.

Webber is probably the company. I know Nick built a Sunn from Webber, at least and I know they have Orange kits too. They're around $450 without a headshell if I can remember correctly.

In my opinion though, I would honestly start small, especially because you haven't worked on anything like that before. There is less of a chance of messing something serious up if it's just something simple like a Champ kit opposed to something like an Orange that will probably have double the components.

I've been building pedals for about 4ish years now and I JUST built my first amplifier. It was pretty easy, but there were a few challenges that I faced even with a simple 5w build

Skip the OR clone, not an easy build

Do try the 8cm100 or 6s100. Much easier build

However if its your very first amp build maybe just build a Fender Tweed.
