You like sitar? Yes? And bass? Righty!

Post by Bassus Sanguinis »

a Finn dude built something he calls Bassitar, an electric bass variant of Sympitar. This is fucking crazy synth sitar bass even without any pedals.

heh. I already had a video open, so I just had to copy and paste stuff around to get it to work. I would have just waited if I had to actually put effort in.

btw, I really want Al Cisneros to get one of these. Would sound amazing on some Om stuff. :!!!:

Agreed.

I remember reading about an upright bass sitar thing in Bass Player years ago. I don't think it was this guy, but I found this:

That BassitaR is interesting. 33 frets? He also built it with some woods not typically used in guitar making.

Oh shit. I NEED that. If only I could somehow get enough money for custom work like that.
I'm already pining for an electric jouhikko, which is reasonably cheap, but still too much for me right now.

I was unfamiliar with the name of that instrument. So, I looked it up. Finnish bowed lyre, eh? Very nice.

Look what I found:

Those things look amazing. I'd bet they sound great electric too.

People like that make me feel like a moron about making instruments.
