Convert a 2x10 combo to 1x15?
I have the 210 version of the Delta Blues but it is just not handling my baritone well. As the title says, would it be possible to take out the 2x10s and throw in a 1x15? Space-wise, it seems like it will fit. What would be involved with doing this? I've tried trading locally but no dice and I'd prefer to avoid the hassle of selling and buying a new one.

Not sure exactly, but you may only have to cut a new baffle.

As long as you account for internal volume a all that hullabaloo.....
Yes you simply need to remove the old baffle and replace it with a new one.
*Edit* Just remembered the Delta Blues is open back, go for it*

And just cut one set of the existing speaker wires in the amp already?

By the looks of things, no.
The speakers are wired in series.
So you need only hook up your new speaker to the wires.

You should be able to just throw a new baffle in and hook the speaker up but.........an open back anything isnt gonna do fantastic with a bari regardless of what size speaker is in there.
Ive never really played around with a Delta but can you just close the back up without overheating the amp?

Hmm...potentially? I'll fiddle with it later and see.
If this doesn't work out, any good 10" speaker recommendations that can deliver the lows? This is my only amp so I don't want to go the bass speaker route.

How about just hooking up a 16ohm extention cab? A G-Flex 2x12 would handle the lows brilliantly

Re: Convert a 2x10 combo to 1x15?
The bit that open back isn't good with baris... my drummer has an old solid state Marshall 2x12 open back combo, my bari sounds fantastic with it. Also, one of my favourite amps is a tiny Traynor 2x8" solid state combo (open back), TS something or other, sounds a lot better with a bari than with a regular guitar.

I second the extension cab idea. If you could have a 1x15 extension cab with it, I think that'd be pretty well rounded

Re: Convert a 2x10 combo to 1x15?
The Eminence Ramrod is a nice high wattage 10" with great lows and smooth highs. Sounds closer to a 12" to my ears so I'd imagine a 4x10 would really scream. That said, no 10" is gonna get you anywhere close to a 15" in terms of low end.colossus wrote:Hmm...potentially? I'll fiddle with it later and see.

Aren't/weren't there both 210 and 115 versions of this amp? And of the same size? You should be able to do an easy baffle swap.
