Does anyone around here own or have played a Guild S300 or S60? I'm curious what people think about them as far as playability and comfort go. A buddy of mine owned one, I never got to mess around with it but damn, he made it sound awesome. Plus, they look kind of ridiculous and I'm pretty into that. I mean, look at em...

Ya, the bottom one is an S60. Even though I initially wanted what my friend had, the S300, that S60 is so hot and let's be honest, I really only use my bridge pick up.

The larger pickguard covers more of the red too lol. I don't jive with red guitars hah.
I want one, but would smooth down the weird lower body horns (which is what most people like about them though). Just think about how still badass it would be without those corners...cover them with your thumbs to get an idea.
I was an hour too late to get one of those basses for some obscenely low amount on the local CL a few years back. Like under $200, maybe even less. Still stings a bit.

I have played many of those guitars and basses when I worked at the vintage guitar store. The cool thing about those models is that people generally look at them in horror but I would explain that the shape is REALLY comfortable especially when sitting down. So people would sit and hold the guitar and it would all make sense.
yeah it looks weird but it's very ergonomic!
Vintage Guild guitars are still somewhat of a sleeper on the vintage market. They never had a bad period as far as quality, unlike every other brand out there. Have you guys ever seen the...goodness what model was that.....I think it was the x-79? Guild did some crazy looking guitars in the 80s that are super high quality but people shy away and so they are pretty affordable!!!!!
