Old School Electric Pianos
Are there any cool lower cost alternatives to the Fender Rhodes/Wurlitzer 200/type of pianos?

Re: Old School Electric Pianos
I've seen Rhodes with issues go for around $500 locally. IMO nothing sounds as sexy as the real deal. @ 500 bucks they never stay for sale for long and they always seem to pop up when I don't have any discretionary income.
Perhaps a Midi Controller and some pirated software would get you there?

Pianet T is cheaper than those and sounds good, but you'd likely have to replace those sticky pads. Also, no sustain pedal ability.

Roland synths have really good Electric P sounds... Most of the Electric Ps from the 80's and 90's were Roland patches... Also Yamaha CPs are cool and not always as expensive but they are huge...

Re: Old School Electric Pianos
The Roland XV/XP are good and if you can find a Fantom GET IT... The XVs are rack or table top and you can use whatever Midi controller you want plus they have the SRX expansion slots for the Classic EPs pack which is awesome...ChetMagongalo wrote:What particular Roland Synths have good suitcase sounds? I agree that everyone should have on; but in good shape they are $1000-$1500 and in some cases more. That would take a bit of discipline and saving for me to afford.askthedust wrote:In the US used Rhodes are so cheap...everyone should have one.
