Re: a couple of questions
that's for dialing in the octave - i am omitting it on the newer buzzz since i'm making sure it will be unnecessary - though usually around the center is the most pronounced octave.
yeah they are mostly push-ons. it can be tricky to get set-screw knobs on those shafts but it's doable, if that's what you're thinking - sometimes they wobble a little bit.

Re: a couple of questions
ok, it is the octave - i'll leave it alone then as it already seems to be dialed in just right
i was going to stick with pushons, just wondered if there were different sizes i had to worry about. might just try a couple of different design on certain knobs to differentiate them at a glance, or make the pointer/tip stand out more in the gloom

Tape off the knob except for the pointer and spraypaint? A couple of coats should do it!

Re: a couple of questions
hmm, thats an idea, or perhaps a little white paint on the tip
oh, had a 3rd question - with the sparkle motion is the tone control just a high pass roll-off, or is there any bass boost in the circuit added at maximum?
