Pedal Refinishing

We have some fine folks here who do etching, jwar, danny, laowiz, but are there other folks who refinish pedals? Not just etching but other types? Has anyone here ever tried to get Laura Bennet to paint anything?

Jero's got some dope finishes, also you might get an empty Laura from Tom and fill it up...

It's always worth a shot to try it yourself too! Depending on what you had in mind I might be able to pull it off.

funny you should mention. laura just sent me a photo of a pedal she just did for someone. you can find her on facebook and message her--i'm certain she'd be happy to work with you.

also cool (much cooler, in my opinion) would be getting a good artist you personally know to paint it. I bet you know one.

Find some pics on the web of designs you like....Go to Michaels, get some paint markers and get inspired...!! If you don't like it you can just sand it off...And theres another idea--get a Dremel and etch some abstract patterns. Then apply and wipe-off paint marker over that....So many possibilities.

That's flippin' sweet! Does she just paint whatever she feels like or can for ask for color schemes or themes? Because all of her stuff does have a very specific style.

Unfortunately I don't know anyone... And I think I'd want the opposite kind of dip

I don't think I'm crafty enough for that. Have you done any of that? Because it sounds awesome!

i'm sure you can request designs and color schemes.

and as goroth said, justben does some incredible artwork depicting planets and outer space.

Drawing/painting on pedals is so much fun. Get some paint markers and a decent can of clear coat and go wild!

i've been really wanting to get into legitimate painting, but been too busy (or lazy?) to look up the paints to use. good looking pedals are works of art though, mad respect.

I've built pedals, guitars, speaker cabs, keytars, snare drums....you name it, I've probably tried it. The first hurdle is to say you are gonna do it. After that, the next big hurdle is making a plan. It's all just "could be" and "maybe it will happen" until you make the plan. Sketch out some ideas on paper, decide on colors and making a shopping list. Buy your supplies and review you plan---are there layers and an order that the paint needs to be applied in.....? It's all up to you. Fuck it up, learn from it and start again....It's all part of the process. Its low risk, low cost, high reward stuff...!!!
