Anyone have any experience with a Whammy DT on bass. Yeah, I know it's massive, but I'm curious about the drop tune functionality. Seems like it would be nice to go from E to D standard with the click of a button. Any comments on this thing tracks? Or general comments on the whammy side? All discussion appreciated. Muchos gracias.

I have played one in guitar center and it was cool and tracked great but for the size and cost save a little more and buy a Pitchfactor, OR buy one of them that are currently for sale in BST.

Right on, tnx. My thought is it'd be cool to have the whammy and detuner functionality all in one box.

It is, but the pitchfactor can do both and a lot more.

I've used the Whammy DT and found the tracking on the droptune mode to be fucking amazing. The sound is still not totally there, I found I liked it more when I ran it through some dirt afterwards, rather than running it clean.
The Whammy mode can still do the crazy glitchy shit like the old Whammy too.

Ehhhh, not quite sure about that. I know that some folks have said that the Pitchfactor can do polyphony, but when I tried one, it glitched on chords, whereas the DT didn't.Derelict78 wrote:It is, but the pitchfactor can do both and a lot more.

you can chande the input type for the PF from guitar to bass to synth and that helps a LOT with the tracking. It has always sounded good to me.

Curious, did you use the Whammy DT on bass? How low could you get it? Down to B? Tnx!bigchiefbc wrote:I've used the Whammy DT and found the tracking on the droptune mode to be fucking amazing. Re: Digitech Whammy DT on bass
Yes, it belonged to the guitarist in my covers band, but he let me try it out on my bass. I didn't have any problem with it tracking the B, although I only had it dropping down a step, so I never tried to get it to output a note lower than A.Pelham Bleu wrote:Curious, did you use the Whammy DT on bass? Taking the plunge; found a DT used for a decent price. We'll see if it fits the bill for me.

Re: Digitech Whammy DT on bass
Brief follow up. I got the Whammy DT and, thought it's not perfect, it does the job well enough. I'm getting down to D standard and C standard no problem. BEAD is a bit muddy. With dirt thrown after it sounds legit. I would not recommend paying full price for this, though; get one used. The Whammy side is what it is, a fun noise maker.
