How the hell do you replace the jack on a Dot/335?
My Epiphone Dot is my favorite guitar, but the jack is cutting out. I know how to replace a jack, that's easy. But how the fuck do you do it with the Dot/335, there's no control plate or back access to the body cavity?

Good question. Must be some alien tool that goes within the fholes or something.

OK, I think I get what you're getting at, as far as snaking it out through the f-hole. But how do you desolder the jack from the pots to get it loose in the first place? Is the wire from the jack to the pots left intentionally long enough for it to reach all the way out the f-hole before needing to be desoldered? You don't have to take all the pots out, too, do you?
Should I just give up and take the fucking thing to a tech?

Some times i you are lucky the rout on the bridge pickup is open on the treble side and you can get the stuff out that way. But hollowbody wiring is a pain!
but... here is how it's done.

But all of those videos are about replacing everything, jacks pots and switch; I just want to replace the jack. I don't want to have to take out all the fucking wiring. I've tried to find a video of someone just replacing the jack, and I can't find one. Does that mean you have to take everything out? If so, fucking forget that shit, I'll bring it to a tech.

If I were in your shoes, I might try it like this:
- remove the nut/washer off the jack
- take some needlenose or other long stem pliers and reach down through the f-hole to grab onto the wires going to the jack
-carefully move the jack towards the f hole and pull it up and out
-desolder + replace jack, then reverse the pliers step and screw the washer/nut back in place
this is hypothetical though, as I've never owned a hollowbody before, so it might not work. I can't imagine why it wouldn't though.

I'm just worried that the wire that goes from the jack to the pots isn't long enough to get it out of the f-hole, and if not, then I'm totally screwed, because I'll never be able to get the jack back into the hole.

Tie a string to the threads of the jack before you try to pull it out the fhole. Then you tug the string and the jack goes back. Should work.
