Blown out 5E3 sound suggestions?

Hey! So, I'm getting a bit obsessed with that crazy old tweed deluxe sound, the one that's all buzzy. It's mostly due to the solo in this song. Also, Neil Young.

A friend of mine got Xiu Xiu and Jarboe to contribute vocals for an album of his, and he was afraid to listen to both for like two months.

I've got a Formula No. 5 and it's okaaaaay. Not as boxy as the deluxe sound to my ears, but definitely the same blown out buzzy thing going at high gain. I gave it to my friend to play baritone through and he sounds like the coming apocalypse with it.

I also tried the following:
Nick Greer Ghetto Stomp - owned this
Lovepedal Something or Other - tried this in a shop
Some Other Lovepedal - as above

and didn't really like them. No sustain, weird low-freq intermodulation. Later, when I started learning how to roll my own pedals, I found out that they are all the same circuit and I was a sad little boy.
