Good quality capo?

Post by woolyh »

Been using a pair of cheap Dunlop capo's for a few years (one trigger and one strap) but I'm using them a lot more recently and they're not the most reliable (especially when bending/using on different guitars) so I'm looking for a step up.

Is there like a industry standard capo? What are you guys using?

I haven't had any problems since switching from one of those shitty dunlop elastic/wraparound capos to the the kyser clamp style capos.

I do like the shubb capos as well and it's the only one I use, but try to fit one on your guitar before buying. It doesn't fit on some neck profiles when you get higher up the neck.

I'd take the G7th, thought the talk about it being better probably was a bunch of crap but then I tried it and I was convinced straight away.
It's very easy to use, doesn't clamp too hard on the neck / strings and it is much much more in tune than any other capo I ever tried (including Dunlop, Kyser and Shubb).

I have heard great things about the G7th capos. Would like to try one at some point.

I, too, would like to try one. I really don't want to spend for a capo that I will lose instantly, though.

I've had a Kyser for years... I never thought to try anything else since I've had one. Works great for me.

Shubb. always works, fits in your trouser pocket, and lasts forever. my brass Shubb is almost 30 years old and works as well now as when i bought it. i'm kind of amazed that it hasn't been lost.
