Fuck Overdrive to Demo Tape Fuzz

Figured it's worth a shot to ask this here. I'm not really trying to make it a "vs." thread, but, well, perhaps I am.

I currently have a Fuck OD as my main rhythm sound. It's set crackle always on but at a lower setting, ala loud, dirty, cranked amp, which is in the vein of a low-mid gain fuzz (to me). I also have a Mini that I set at the end of my chain, so I'm quite familiar with the Fuck/Mini circuit. I'm not too familiar with the Mid-Fi Demo Tape Fuzz but it's all I've been thinking about and wanting for the last month. It's either one or the other though, so I'm hoping I can get some feedback between them from people that have both or have played/compared both. I wish I can just have all three but I can only stick with two of the three (fuck, mini, demo tape) right now.

So what can/will I benefit from the Demo Tape Fuzz over either the Fuck or Mini? Does the Demo Tape Fuzz articulate chords, particularly in a faster style of playing, as well as the fuck/mini? I mean, would you consider a Demo Tape Fuzz over a Fuck? Just curious and wanting to hear more about this before I sell/buy anything, since money is tight at the moment. And again, I'm not trying to bash one over the other, I know both are well respected builders.

I had a Fuck OD... I still have a Demo Tape Fuzz.
The Demo Tape Fuzz is here to stay, it's a keeper.

The DTF cranked sound like a lofi germanium big muff on steroid... the ultimate punk fuzz.
You lower the fuzz, and you get that yummy dynamic buzz tape like clipping... almost clean until you hit the strings harder.
The EQ (Bass/Treble) has a lot of range.

They sound very different.

I've owned all three (FUCK, MINI and Demo Tape Fuzz) two times each.

I ended up sticking with the FUCK and the Demo Tape Fuzz. I'm using the Fuck set at low gain, into the DTF set for full on fuzz.

A lot of it depends on what you are going for soundwise. If you have some clips of what you're after it may be easier to make a suggestion.

For what I do, the DTF is the main sound and the FUCK feeding into it makes that sound, sound better.
I could easily do away with the FUCK though and nobody other than myself would ever notice.
That being said, last week at practice we were just jamming around for a bit in a different style and I never even turned the DTF on.

Both are very versatile and stay articulate. I would say the man differences are that the DTF can get fuzzier and sound a lot trashier
without gating out like the FUCK does on extreme crackle settings. The DTF is also a little bit pickier with placement than the FUCK.

Neither were used on that recording (Megalith) but I'm using them now for the same and similar songs.

I love the Mini and the Fuck. I really don't want to get rid of either. I might try to part with my Elements, I don't know if I bonded with it as much as I wanted to. I'm definitely intrigued by the Demo Tape Fuzz and I think it will sound good for what we do.

DTF vs fuck:

DTF has better cleanup range: goes from massive fuzz to really clean with playing dynamics
BUT fuck has very good cleanup range as well and I prefer not-fully-clean cleanup anyway.

The fuck's cleanup sound is nicer than the dtf's cleanup sound because it's fuller. DTF wi volume rolled off sounded and felt hollow.

DTF has an incredible tone stack, baxandall if I remember correctly. Fuck has just a treble cut threshold knob (cuts above x frequency). I'm a tweaked but I can't be bothered with EQ when the base sound is already so nice. Fwiw, when I had the elements and DTF, I was always fucking with the EQ and I ended up not as happy, lol.

Fuck has the threshold and fuck toggle, which is really cool and when the thresh is lower, can get really unique overload sounds which I like better than the DTF approach.

I'll probably eventually sell the fuck as well, since I consider dirt to be the toys on my board which I move around a lot. So take into account that my current dirt is always my favourite dirt

But now I'm torn as to what I gotta get rid of to pick up a Demo Tape Fuzz. It seems like it'll be right up my alley in sound, but much different than the Fuck/Mini, at least much enough to not want to get rid of either for it. I feel the same way about the elements, it sounds great but it's SO much and I can't stop tweaking it and it sounds good in so many settings, I'm more of a one trick pony type of person, haha. I gotta spend a few more hours playing everything I have once or twice more but it seems like I just need to bite the bullet and pick up a DTF regardless.

I prefer DTF at the end of the chain... it's a really good booster and it add the crackle to other fuzz.
I use DTF mostly for low gain at the moment.

The demo tape is just great. In conjunction with other fuzz too. It can get really clean or balls deep. Great for fuzz bass too, and that eq section is very powerful. I've owned the demo tape since it was released, I've got serial number 1. Its almost always on. Shit is great, IMHO.

Although, I've never owned a fuck. So, i can't compare
