Awhile ago I built a 1 channel bypass looper, and right now I use it more as an AB switch to switch into a tuner that has a tendency to darken my tone quite a bit. :/ I noticed a problem. When I have the looper set to work like an AB switch (by using the SEND to go to the tuner in and then NOT using a tuner out to the RETURN) , I get a tiny bit of signal bleed through when the tuner is on and when the switch is switched to the tuner. It's subtle, but I can hear my guitar through the amp very slightly. I was wondering if this is normal, or perhaps I wired the 1ch Bypass Looper incorrectly. Any thoughts? PS: When I use the out of the tuner into the RETURN of the 1ch BL, I get no bleedthrough of the guitar signal. This makes me think I wired something wrong. What should I do? I'm thinking of just making a AB switch and using that if those work better in your guys' opinion. THANKS SO MUCH -aaron
you already solved your problem by patching the return. without that, you have a giant antenna on a high gain amp. it will pickup signals from nearby wires through induction. you can add a resistor across the output jack of the looper from tip to ground anything 1M to 10M should do it. or you could wire your bypass looper for grounded input + grounded output while in bypass mode. then use the main out for the tuner and the send to the amp. then why your in bypass the amp input will be grounded through the 10R + 33pf of the guitar cable.
Ok, I will try soldering a 5M resistor or so across the sleeve and tip of the output jack. orrrrr could I just wire the 3PDT switch like this: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-k5Sh68yVU18/T ... wiring.png Isn't Iviark's switch wiring better for grounding or something like that? Would that solve the problem? Thanks
rewired the switch and it works, but I still have a buzz without anything plugged in when the loop is engaged. Dang :/ What's a good schematic for an AB that I can build that is absolutely silent and in perfect working order? haha OR someone should let me know what the best way is to put an obnoxious tuner in the chain. I have an Ernie Ball JR Volume Pedal passive, but I've heard that using the tuner out has problems or something like that, AND I do like to have a way to mute my signal with a quick stomp. any recommendations?
you could use this. it will work the same as an AB. you don't need to worry about your tuner having a floating input when not in use. just use the send to the amp and the out to the tuner. my 3PDT wiring has grounded input and grounded output. it grounds the amp input when in bypass. that will fix you up proper.
I need a FULL wiring diagram. LED included and whatnot. I can't tell from that picture what I need to solder. I tried it, and now I have a nonworking bypass looper.
