Thinking of making one of these my next fuzz purchase. Anyone who has had experience with both compare these?
Was considering a Fix'd Fuzz or a Musket as well.
Wanted some more low gain Fuzz sounds. Black Keys territory.

Both of these are excellent and sound rad a low gain settings.
The Tall Font is a little more tame and less fuzzy than the Pharaoh and both pack plenty of bass.

Agreed with MEC, both great with nice variety of good sounding low and high gain tones, just different beasts. One thing I'll say about the Pharaoh, it truly shines at high volume, pushing your amp tubes into submission. That's what it was designed for so consider that when purchasing but there's not much I can think of that does high volume muff fuzz better than a Pharaoh. The diode clipping options are great too, lots of tone options there.
The Fix'd Fuzz is BADASS too, tons of sounds in that thing. Boost, OD, fuzz, crazy fuzz, broken fuzz, etc, etc. I got one included on my Seriously Special Twosome and it's so great as is the Blunderbuss it's paired with. The Musket is pretty cool but the Blunderbuss is where it's at for me, a nastier, meaner version of the Musket, a perfect high gain muff imo.

Re: BAT Pharaoh VS Wren Tall Font Russian
I've played both. On bass the TFR destroyed the Pharaoh in my opinion. But on guitar the TFR didn't have enough cut. The Pharaoh did sound nicer and cut through a bit more. On top of having more options and just being more versatile. I actually didn't think the TFR sounded all that good at low gain settings, where the pharaoh had more sweet spots throughout the volume and gain knobs. Again, probably due to its versatility with the extra EQ settings. The only downside is that every Pharaoh I've tried has been extremely noisy and has this annoying wind chime in the background at high volumes. And I always play at monstrous high volumes. I've since ended up getting rid of both an have been happy with my TAFM, though it won't necessarily get you in Black Keys territory. Though, I think the TFR will get you there the most. Specially if you're running it into a YBA-1. That's Thickfreakness all the way.

I've played both on guitar and bass. I still have a pharaoh because it is has the tones I want particularly for guitar. It packs plenty of bass for bass, but yeah like chiller said, the tall font will have more bass (and more of a mid scoop). They're both nice, but I doubt I'll ever get rid of my pharaoh. The clipping switches allow you to really dial in great fuzz at my (sadly) typically low volume levels. stacks well too

Hmm maybe I should go for the twosome. I was afraid of getting one because I wasn't sure about the musket. I thought I might end up with a pharaoh+Fix'd or TFR+Fix'd.

What's Dan use anyway? Hoof, vintage muffs, and then some? He seems to bust out some weird fuzz tones time to time, really cutting and present in the mix. I think the Fix'd Fuzz Deluxe would be a great start, seriously LOADED with variety, I was taken aback the first time I played through mine. Pairing it with one of those others you mentioned could work out very nicely.
I prefer the Pharaoh and Fix'd to the Musket honestly, esp in terms of low gain tones. The Blunderbuss brings the high gain better than all of 'em tho, hands down, plenty focused like a Musket with tons of tone control but more gnarly bite available.

Yes I think a pharaoh and Fix'd would be great. The blunderbuss and Fix'd are just cheaper to buy together in the twosome. Fix'd deluxes don't come up used too often and if they do its for around $150.
