Does it have to have a solid white background?

I have three messed up doll/puppet images and one of them is too creepy to look at. :omg:

How do you get .jpgs not to compress? I always make sure when I save stuff that it's set not to compress, but it never works out that way.

Were they compressed? I don't know anything about that..... so I just sent them as 300dpi with one of the lengths being 10"
