Batworm Tape Release

Post by fungalattack »

My band Batworm recorded this demo in our basement and it was mixed in our house by our buddy. We bought the tapes, made them ourselves and now they are real and in existence - totally DIY!! It is my first time playing drums in a band and I have been improving by the day. We are simply thrashpunk - extremely raw and disgusting. I personally am bored by the d-beat but I love the 1-2 beat so my whole philosophy on drums is to keep it as simple and primitive as possible. I can do fills and all but ehhh who needs them when the guitars are so fuzzed out and driving. I forced one of the rhythm guitarist to use the fz-2 for that dirty, almost indecipherable fuzz sound. On drums I play what I want to hear and it is primitive. I am happy with it and I am curious what y'all think. The downloads are free so download and listen away (it's really short and won't waste more than 6 and a half minutes of your time - maybe you will even like it). Thanks fuzzers!! I love you all :!!!: !

I like it. Sounds great, nice and thrashy.

Thanks chankgeez!

I feel my buddy did a nice job of mixing it. I just want to keep thrashing away. My timing is a bit wavering in these recordings because i didn't really know what I was doing at the time, but I feel much more confident now (three months after this recording sesh). I still firmly believe that the sloppiness of it adds to the rawness and quirky character of it. We are just having a great time thrashing away.

We just released a new song on our bandcamp. It is super raw and primitive. Like really primitive in the best possible way. Check it...please!
