So, what should I do?

Post by Gopherbassist »

I bought a game on Amazon. The only reason I got it was because it was supposed to be new. It finally arrived, and it was refurbished. It was wrapped in shrink wrap, the disc still had scratches on it, and the manual had wrinkles in it. I tested it out and it worked fine, so I decided to just ask the seller for a couple bucks off so I could buy other stuff. I sent the an e-mail, and got an automated response, but no actual contact.

So, I didn't give them feedback, I waited for them to actually contact me, and they never did. Today, Amazon sent me an e-mail asking me to leave feedback. Most sites don't let you leave feedback after a certain amount of time, so I assumed Amazon is the same way. With this in mind, I figured this e-mail probably means that time will end soon. So, in my mind, this seller has not contacted me to fix this problem since I e-mailed them, so they should get negative feedback. I'll forgive a lie if the liar apologizes, but this one hasn't looked me in the eye yet.

I leave the feedback, and get this:
fideos wrote:Hi Gopherbassist, we received your feedback and realized that you left a negative feedback stating that your item was refurbished with scratches? We can assure you that nothing is sold refurbished and if it has scratches or looks used it's something we can not see since we receive it from the companies in "new" condition. We always ask our customers to please contact us first before leaving negative feedback so that we can fix the problem and find a solution since leaving the feedback only hurts our business and it doesn't give us a chance to help you. Please contact me and I'll replace your game if I still have more in stock if not give you a discount. If you would be so kind to remove the feedback here is the best way to do so:
Have a Blessed day.
If you have the Amazon.com order number handy, you can replace the first 3 steps below with a smart link. To make the smart link, fill the order id into this link:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/css/summary/e ... ID=(insert order id here)

Go to http://www.amazon.com/your-account
Find the pull-down menu next to "View by Order." Select "Orders placed in the past 6 months" and hit the "go" button.
After you sign in, you'll see a list of your recent orders. Select the relevant order and click the "View order" button.
You will find a feedback section two-thirds of the way down the page. To remove feedback, click on the "Remove" link in the feedback section of the order summary.
You may only remove feedback if it is 60 days or less since you left the feedback.

Right now I'm kinda pissed. Not only did they ignore my initial request to fix their customer service error, now they're acting like I never sent it. Plus, they have the gall to tell me how to remove bad feedback they deserve. So what should I think? It looks to me like they are liars, because they sent me something that was not what I paid for, ignored my request to rectify it, and now want me to treat them like I got what I wanted in the first place by removing negative feedback.

I'm not sure what do to other than not to budge on the negative feedback. I like how they said "it makes our store look bad." no fucking shit, thats why negative feedback exists.

Tell them they can send you a new copy or the negative feedback stands. I assume it hasn't been long since the purchase date. Same policy any other game dealer would have...

Games can get scratched up in shipping, but a crumpled manual screams "used and repackaged".

The longer you wait the more it hurts your case...email them again (and again).

I'd leave a negative feedback just for that. :thumb:

Clearly, they need to fix the problem; otherwise, the negative feedback is well earned.

If they couldn't be bothered to read the e-mail you sent them until they saw your negative feedback, that's their poor customer service. I say if they make it right, THEN you can consider changing the feedback. But if it were me, I'd be just as happy to be done with it. You tried to be nice about it and they didn't think it was important enough to reply. It's their own fault.

It's been a few weeks, maybe a month. That's why Amazon sent the "please leave feedback" e-mail.

Plus, I don't know if you've ever had a refurbished game, but they have a weird kind of swirly pattern on them from the machine that grinds them flat. Except, whoever did it did a crappy job, because the center is still all scratched up. When I first got it it was in shrink wrap, I should have not even opened it and sent it back, but I figured maybe that's just how Lucas Arts wraps them...
