DIY Cable help plz

Post by zRobertez »

Alright, Imma diy nooblord so help me out, eh?

I've got these pancake plugs and some cable. I tried my first one today and I got the ends of the cable stripped, the shielding negative coppery stuff twisted and tinned, and then the middle positive stuff twisted and tinned. Then I started soldering the two coppery strands to different parts of the plug when I figured out I have no idea where to solder what.

So like an hour later, I never got the cables to work :(

So can you tell me which tab is what? Like tip/ring/whateva and then which one the positive side goes? And then how and where to ground the negative side?
And can someone tell me what grounding is? I have no idea. im hopeless

So the angled tab is the tip? And the shield goes on the other tab?

YES SIR... It's just cable, make a few and fuck up a few and it's no big deal... Make sure you only strip just enough to solder so you have enough outer jacket so when you put it back together it's got a good hold and wont wiggle and break later... Make sense???

WHOO HOOO!!! I used to solder cables at work on a scissor lift in the air with the cables dangling above my head... You gotta be quick and learn not to fuck up... Glad it worked out for ya... :thumb:
