WHICH CAB FOR MY SUNN CONCERT BASS???

Hello all, some of you have seen that I got a new Sunn Concert Bass yesterday and it's like new and AWESOME... I got it for guitar use and want to know what kinda cabs yall have used with these??? I don't like Marshall Heads but I can get a Marshall cab for cheap, are they worth it??? I'm thinking 4x12 so are there any suggestions for a Sunn Concert Bass Head???

It'd sound good through your Peavey 2x15 but I'm sure you've tried that already. 4x12 would also be cool but I have been in this crazy space saving mindset since I moved in with my now wife a few months ago that you can still get loud with smaller cabs/use the same cabs that you have for bass and guitar

Honestly you could get away with something like a 2x12 with Eminence Delta Pro 12a's and use the cab for bass and guitar. They are bass drivers but actually sound AWESOME on guitar without any high end loss of most bass speakers

There is a tight Mesa 2x12 cab here on CL... I want something for guitar that can match the brutalness of the MarkIV and the 2X15's... I kinda wanna get a Behringer 4x12 for $100 just to blow it up with the Sunn...

I blew up a 1x15 Ampeg cab at a noise show using a Meatbox. That was a lot of fun

Yeah on that note what are some cabs I should not use??? I've always been a combo guy except for my '67 Bandmaster Head and 2x12... I think a Bassman cab would be cool but not enough... I need big for DOOMGAZE!!!

i love my 412L! im pissed i waited so long on a 610L that was up in duluth. i had at least three months to go get it but then one day it was gone...

Ummmm this, so totally this. In general I've always felt the SS Sunn amps sound great with oversized 4x12's; Mesa makes a few, Avatar's or other orange clones, Peavey makes a couple as well, and of course in Sunn 412L. I used to use one with a Peavey sheffield equipped 4x12 and loved it, and those cabs are usually dirt cheap.

I have a sunn concert bass and a sunn 412L. I haven't tried them together though. I was using the sunn through a 2x12 with eminence tonkers and a 1x15 weber michigan for a bit with a baritone guitar tuned to A and it sounded pretty rad. Just make sure you have a foot switch to turn on the boost otherwise it never sounded loud enough. And I actually really liked the distortion built in too. I kinda want to figure out how to put that in a pedal to see if it is any good.

If I ever get off my lazy ass and actually find the time to make the recordings and videos I want to make in my band's practice space I can making a recording of that combo.

Kind of makes me miss the janked up Concert Lead I got from BlindToFaith. But I've got plenty of Traynor SS to make up for it now
