VFE Triumvirate

Post by blindrabbit »

Hey-

Anyone had a chance to use this pedal on bass? The limited videos out there sound decent enough, but there isn't really a lot out there on it. I've got an opportunity to pick one up in a trade, and I'm wonder if it is worth it or not.

I know the Wounded Paw Black Sheep is a heck of a pedal and this is a similar idea, but the EQ split points seem to be more guitar oriented (270, 1.5 or something like that)...which may or may not matter.

Any input or help ILF can offer? Thanks!

I'm tempted by it as well... sadly no personal experience either... yet...

No, that's one that slipped by me, thanks!

A guy on TB just posted that he found it to be kind of harsh in the mids and highs (for bass), and having lots of tones but maybe not so many useable ones. I wonder with the crossover points being where they are if its a better fit for guitar than bass. Maybe its worth an experiment though...

I hate to say this because I love Peter's pedals and have since I hopped on the bandwagon not long after he started but the Triumvirate is harsh in the mids and highs on guitar too. But it sounds amazing on the lows. Like fucking amazing. I keep it at near hardly any mids and nearly no highs and I dime the lows, just fucking wreck them and it sounds great that way.

Huh. Interesting. I wish I was near a dealer that carried VFE... hmm. Might have to work on that.

I think they've got rid of all their dealers and are doing direct only. Don't quote me on this though. Because I may have made it up.
