Old Soul Cabinets (and Golden Era Amps)

Post by insubordination »

So I posted about my friend's cabs in the recent Emperor thread, but he and a local amp builder just put this combotogether:

And I figured Old Soul deserved its own thread.

Going to try and get down there this weekend to check this thing out!

Yeah, that shit looks super! I like the pressed lettering on the control plate, reminds me of the Fairfield stuff.

Wonder how it sounds? Price is a touch high for a single 6L6 15 watter but most 15W amps aren't handwired with sexy ass woodgrain cabs.....

Wow that looks killer!!!! So clean and well thought out. I love the back panel and how clean the overall appearance of the back is.

Combo # 2 is done. Played it today. It sounds better than the first, the Veteran 30 is a good speaker for this. Real resonant cab, and the reverb is soooooooooo deep. I should convince him to let me do some clips or something, people should hear these.

Looks great! I love the old Radio cabinet aesthetic of the second one.

I love how a lot of builders here (and fans of builders) pay more attention to the look as well as build quality. I wish the rest of society was like this.
