Re: Capitol Hill Block Party
I used to go to block party every year. Missed it last year and will probably skip it again, depends if my friends are up for it or not. I just tend to prefer regular shows to festivals and I always spend a lot of time seeing Seattle bands when I'm there and I can see those bands all the time anyway.
There's definitely some good bands on the list so far though and if you're from out of town a lot of the Good to Die bands are cool.
If I end up going I'm totally down to meet up with any ILF folks

This, except I'm actually probably going to go. Chromatics are pretty much my favorite band.

I mean, I literally saw three of those bands at one show just last week.
'09 was a really good year for it. Not super crowded and the Cha Cha was fairly empty most of the time and serving cheap beer.

I think I was there that year! I had to keep walking back and forth from Akimbo, and Chromeo because they were playing at the same time.

I'd like to see Sandrider, but could probably see them on a headlining gig

Sandrider is cool.
One of the best moments from Block Party in 2011 was Akimbo in the Cha Cha.

Re: Capitol Hill Block Party
I thought this thread was going to be about Washington DC.... I have not been to the block party in years.
The fact that Stephen appears from nowhere, is sentenced to death in an emotional public trial without anyone interfering at all and is then altogether forgotten as if nothing happened, is already suspicious.
