I've never used midi. I know nothing and when I try to figure this out, it hurts my brain.
Okay. Here's my question. I want to control an HR-16 drum machine with an MPD26 and sync the tempo with kaoss pad. Im not connecting anything to a computer. Is it possible? I don't have the MPD yet, but I found a really good deal on one. My main reason for doing this is because the plastic pads on the drum machine kill my fingers.
Help me with this MIDI question!

Re: Help me with this MIDI question!
You would have to hook up the Midi out from the MPD26 to the input of the HR 16 and that would take up the only Midi in... You would need a Midi splitter to connect the Kaos Pad to the mix... You could program the drums with the MPD26 then unplug it and send Midi from the Koas Pad to the HR 16... The only way you could hook it up without a splitter is to have the HR 16 be the clock source and hook up the Midi out from the MPD26 to the in of the HR 16 and out from the HR 16 in to the Kaos Pad which would then be in sync with the HR's timing... Hope that helps...

I think I got it. I wanted the HR16 to be the clock source. So im gonna go ahead and get the mpd. Thanks Sonidero!
