Hi,
I am looking at used Microverbs (model 1 or 2) to try and capture the kevin sheilds loveless sound. I need a good reverse reverb to do this, and I know that the original microverb had reverse. I cannot determine from searching around if the microverb 2 has reverse as well. Does anyone here have one? Does anyone here know if the Micro Verb 2 has reverse reverb?
Thanks,
Ean

Re: Alesis Microverb
I don't think the Microverb II has reverse reverb. The manual's description makes it sound like it should have a reverse setting, but then if you look at the modes none of them are actually described as reverse reverb: http://www.flitemedia.com/downloads/mic ... Manual.pdf
I have the original Microverb and it definitely has a reverse setting, but it isn't all that versatile since the only parameter you can adjust is the mix level. The same would be true of the Microverb II if does have reverse reverb. You might want to try something like a Digiverb for cheap reverse reverb sounds.

Thanks for the reply.
Do you know if the nanoverb has reverse reverb? I can't seem to find a manual that spells out what all the reverb programs do.
thanks

if you're looking for the reverse Kevin thing, you need the MidiVerb II. not the MidiVerb i, III, or IV (the I is Pliocene, and the III and IV use a different processor to the II); not the Microverb; and not the NanoVerb. MidiVerb II, and the reverse Early Reflections algorithm from the Yamaha SPX 90/900/GEP 50/Magic Stomp. you're looking particularly for the MV II "Bloom" settings, which IIRC are #45 and #49.

Re: Alesis Microverb
Thanks for the tips!
I do have a spx 900 (actually 2 for no good reason) and haven't really found the right settings. I see the manual shows the following presets that seem like they might be the right one:
17 Programmable ER
49 ER + REV
...or is the "reverse Early Reflections algorithm" some configuration of a standard reverb?
Thanks for the help!!

Re: Alesis Microverb
ER is correct. they use "ER" as the abbreviation for the display; the full patch names appear in the manual, which you should be able to find online.

Re: Alesis Microverb
This is what KS's former roadie stated regarding the SPX settings:
2. go to the preset REVERSE GATE
3. parameters(from my gep50, but will work on an SPX90)
TYPE=reverse
ROOM SIZE=20.0
LIVENESS=6-7
DELAY=75.0 ms
LPF=through
BALANCE=100%
OUT LEVEL=100%
