Versetile fuzz pedal for $300 or less?
Hey guys, im new to pedalboards and am looking for a decent-ish fuzz pedal around 300 dollars maximum.
Basically i dig the kind of distortions and fuzz on the billy talent devil in a midnight mass and some of their other songs. (I realise that the bass is doing the majority of fuzz on the track mentioned)
Im looking at a JHS bunrunner currently as its essentially 2 different pedal/fuzz types that can be run separately or together at the same time.(edit: basically ditched the idea of the bunrunner and wish to get something thats versetile but can also replicate oscillating big muff type sounds similar to muse)
I am more of a heavyish/modern rock player then a vintage fuzz guys so if any of you guys have experience with the pedal could comment or recommend a few alternatives that would be great
Note: My board will be running a mxr king ten eq pedal, rogue delay, rogue compressor, modtone tuner, coffin case blood drive, boss metal zone and a strymon mobius as well as the fuzz pedal of choice
cheers guys

Re: JHS Bunrunner for versetile fuzz?
Based on these two threads, I'd say the Bunrunner is an overpriced version of something you could get much cheaper from Devi Ever.

http://www.deviever.com/fx/oldforum/viewtopic.php?f=192&t=13311
It also appears that the dude who runs JHS is a huge douche.
I didn't listen to that song you mentioned because I'm a huge douche too but If you are looking for a dual fuzz,
I'd suggest the Blackout Effectors Twosome or the Earthquaker Devices Hoof Reaper.
Or
Contact Devi and ask her if she could make you a Bunrunner clone.

Thnx for the quick response, i've heard of a few people using the hoof pedals, will check out the other links u mentioned.
As a side note, any experience with the fuzz face minis recently demo'd at NAMM? I'm normally a bit picky on which MXR pedals i choose, though they've made some decent stuff over the years

Who already has any experience with the Fuzz Face Minis? They haven't even been released yet.

Good point, chankgeez
Anyways i ended up ringing http://www.deluxeguitars.com.au/, asked about the blackout and quoted some bands as well as wanting a more modern fuzz tone, opposed to a vintage hendrixy fuzz
He seemed to think the blackout effects pedal would get the job done and give me versatility and also said any other oscillating pedals such as a big muff or some devi models would suffice for my musical preference.
I think ill be looking at the blackout twosome as its been knocked down in price and it just sounds badass from the clips

Maybe you should look at the Fairfield Circuitry Four Eyes Fuzz.
