Squier Duo Sonic Guitar

Hey all, I have a duo sonic in my collection. It is probably one of my fav's in my collection. Just wondering if anyone else on this forum has one. If they do have they modded it. Just look for ppls feedback on that guitar... Cheers everyone!

I don't have the squier, but a '62 fender duosonic, and absolutely love the guitar. Always thought those ones were real cool too! As for mods, I put some custom p90s to fit in there. Done anything with yours?!

I had PumpkinPieces Duo Sonic for a good while. Put some aluminum saddles and a back on black pickguard on it. Seriously one of the most fun guitars to play EVER.

First of all I really love it. It's so much fun to play, the neck is awesome and I love the overall spankiness of the sound. Just so... I can't describe it but it feels so right for a lot of things.

I ditched the tone pot because it was always on full throttle anyway, got a little more edge and nagging highs I think but that might just be because I also changed the Pickups when I did that. Got a pair of Creamery Red '79 and dropped them in. Best. Thing. To. Do. EVAR! Really it lifted the guitar to a whole other level. While I was at it I changed the switching so that the middle position made both act as a humbucker and that sounds awesome too. All of a sudden the guitar gets so warm and opens up all the fuzzes. Lovely.
Later on I exchanged the saddles for Glendale Brass saddles that did not affect the tone too much, but sustain increased a bit. She is still blunt and direct, but a nice little less so. The saddles are made for a Tele though so I think the string spacing is a bit off. They look like rotten teeth on her and I kinda like that. I couldn't get the low E to intonate properly but that might just be a case of string thickness. I think Glendale has a special saddle for when the E string goes above 48.

I still want to refinish her to a translucent or sherwood green. I'm not a fan of the beige/gold/wood look. A different nut might also be in order.

your guitar looks sick with those pickups.. .i was thinking about putting lipstick pickups in mine.. but i may look into getting the pickups you have as well

Well thank you! We've got the full-length album coming out shortly, that ones definitely a favorite.
I'll post a pic as soon as I'm off work and can get to it!

Are the new Squiers swimming-pool routed? If not you might need to look into single coil sized lipsticks and not full sized ones. But I bet they would sound great
